Age in America is a national demonstration project that examines ‘Age' from cultural, historical and local perspectives. Working with museums and libraries in three diverse communities, the project seeks to inform and nurture local conversations about the meaning of age and the role of the older adult in the home, the workplace and the community. Through this website, project symposia, webinars and conference presentations we also seek to stimulate a national conversation between and among museum and library professionals regarding thematic program collaboration. Our approach emphasizes the value of multiple venues, institutions and disciplinary perspectives in order to explore the many dimensions of the aging experience over time.
Please send us your thoughts about the project and this dialogue. We will respond to your comments and incorporate them in the emerging dialogue about Age in America.
